Robert Clampett

Hi! I'm Robert, the current Chair of Clyde Mountaineering Club for 2025/2026. I moved over from Ireland 3 years ago and joined the club after its first year. Without a doubt, it has been a major positive force in my life and has allowed me many great experiences in the Highlands and across the UK. My main activities are Summer & Winter climbing, trekking, running and winter hillwalking. You'll find me at most club bouldering sessions, run meets and pub socials. So feel absolutely free to come up and say hello!

Ricki Runions

Hiya! I’m Ricki, the current Vice Chair of CMC. I have a great love for the outdoors and am excited to help members to get out and enjoy all the fun to be had in the Scottish hills! You’ll find me at most club bouldering and climbing evenings as well as club walks and socials. My main activities are summer and winter hillwalking and climbing. Jamie Cooper-Higgins

I'm from Glasgow and I joined the club in early 2024. I'm responsible for our club finances as Treasurer. You'll find me on club walks, out running, and pretty much most of the social events we put on. Look forward to meeting you!

Secretary

Eleanor Parkhill

Hello, I’m Eleanor and have been the club secretary since 2024. I moved up to Glasgow from far south of the border, mainly for the mountains and a good ceilidh. Since joining the club I've developed from a low level walker to summer and winter hiking, sport climbing and finding every excuse for a post hike loch dip. My aim for the summer is to develop my trad skills and find my way back into regular running.

Jacob Gledhill

Hi! I’m Jacob, and I have been on committee since 2023 - this year, I’m in the trail running role.I moved up to Scotland in 2022, and have really been enjoying building my experience on the hills since then. I think the club is great, and I enjoy doing my part to support the club to continue to deliver a high quality service for its members. I will always be happy to answer any questions anyone might have, so please do get in touch if you have any!

James Atkinson

Hi Folks, I’m James the general committee member for walking and hiking this year! I spend more of my life than I’d care to mention thinking about Scottish hills. For the last few years the club has been great to me developing my skills and who I am as a person, I am delighted to give something back this year and put on a great programme of walks and events for you! My goal on committee this year is to look to take us on new more challenging hills and to do some of the UKs fantastic long distance trails as a group. Gordon Urquhart

Hi I'm Gordon, I'm the climbing general committee member. I moved to Glasgow in 2022 and through the club I went from being a boulderer to doing all different types of climbing. CMC is made up of a great group of folk and there are plenty of activities on all the time - both formal and informal to take part in. I'm a big fan of faffing about up the hills from big multi-munro days out to scrambling to winter climbing. If you have any questions (both climbing and non climbing related) just give me a shout!

Meg Guy

Hiya! I'm Meg the Kit Officer! I'm a Lake District girl that loves getting out - walking, scrambling, maybe dipping in cold water, and dabbling in some winter mountaineering too! If you're new to mountaineering or exploring new activities like climbing or winter, equipment can be a barrier. That's why we have a collection of books, maps, and mountaineering equipment for you to borrow! Reach out if you want to use anything, and I'll help you out!

Alex Gibson

Hi I'm Alex, a keen outdoorsy enthusiast into hillwalking, trail running, gravel and mountain biking as well as smattering of bouldering and any other outdoor shenanigans. I’m relatively new to Glasgow having spent the last 3 years in NZ but I’m really keen on exploring more of the mountains around Scotland, the UK and Europe has to offer! This year I’m social secretary, responsible for regular pub meets as well as other activities, such as ceilidhs, crazy golf etc. I’m very keen to hear suggestions for others about what events that they would like to be involved in, please send me a message on discord and watch out for a bi annual google form asking for ideas.
